Our Big Adventure began on Tuesday, February 21st and we returned home on Sunday, March 5th. We had such a wonderful time, and met some very nice people on our journey. First stop was a night in Reading, PA at Shari’s son Liam and his wife Lynn’s house. Thank you so much to Liam and Lynn for their warm and wonderful hospitality! Early morning departure from there to Hampton VA for setup and open house for the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival.
Thursday Morning the fun really began with the official opening of the show.
We were so excited !!
We could hear the crowd enter the building
and the noise level rise as they swarmed the aisles.
Friday morning we arrived early to get a look at the quilts. We were so busy during the day, we never got out of our booth to explore at all ! Here are some of the beautiful quilts we saw. (If you see your quilt in our post feel free to contact us and I will add your name to give you credit for your wonderful work. Thank you )
It was, overall, a fantastic show and a fabulous experience. We did circle demo’s all day long and everyone loved it. The show closed at 5 on Sunday and we packed up and headed back to PA for a couple of days off.
Wednesday the 1st, we said goodbye to PA and headed to New Jersey for the Sewing and Quilting Festival of New Jersey.
The New Jersey Show ran from Thursday through Sunday. A big big Thank you to Jacob Migdail-Smith for helping us with setup and take down. We met some really great people, visited with our vendor friends, ate really good food and continued our adventure. In the mornings, before the show opened, we would wander and check out the vendors and the quilts…
The show closed on Sunday at 4, and after repacking everything into the car, we headed for home. Home Sweet Home ! We had such a wonderful adventure. We probably shouldn’t mention the bathrooms issues at the hotel (we got a new room) or the key cards that wouldn’t work… every night in VA. The long trip from VA to PA… long drive, late night. Or the shoe shopping… (what?) what shoes… oh those comfortable shoes…
Until next time.. Happy Sewing, friends.
